Phillip McKnight, CMHC's certified mindfulness teacher recently took the healing practice of mindfulness to local school Boys’ Latin. Mindfulness, which intentionally invites people into the present moment and often helps people reduce stress, increase focus, and feel more connected to others, was offered to sophomore students as part of their wellness classes. During the sessions, students became familiar with the practice, and it related it to how a sports team takes a time out at the height of a game. Many students spoke of high anxiety, pressure in school and sports, and difficulties from the pandemic as challenges that they were working with. They learned that mindfulness was as easy as intentionally slowing down with a deep breath, and beginning to notice what is happening in their senses. Many students declared that they would use the practices in small increments to help them before studying, taking a test, and to prepare themselves for an important game. Students were given the invitation to take the practice home with them and write down a list of 5 things that they noticed in each sense before beginning their homework. Many students reported that this intentional pause helped them improve their focus and sense of calm. Please contact CMHC if your student or school community is interested in learning and practicing this life changing, scientifically based technique. https://www.cmhcweb.com/mindfulness
Brief description of all the steps the practice involves
Step 1: Intentionally slow the body down by standing, sitting, or lying down
Step 2: Take 3 long and slow deep breaths
Step 3: Make the intention to arrive in this moment
Step 4: Begin writing 5 things that you are able to notice in your space. For example 5 different things you can see, hear, smell, touch, and taste.
Step 5 proceed into next activity rejuvenated with presence
NURS FPX 8020 Assessment
The NURS FPX 8020 Assessment plays a central role in advancing the knowledge, competencies, and professional growth of nursing students enrolled in doctoral-level programs. It is specifically designed to strengthen scholarly practice, critical thinking, and the ability to apply advanced nursing theories in practical and organizational contexts. This assessment emphasizes not only the academic growth of learners but also their capacity to influence healthcare outcomes through evidence-based strategies. By requiring a deep exploration of theory, practice, and leadership, the NURS FPX 8020 Assessment serves as a bridge between classroom knowledge and real-world healthcare application. A comprehensive review of this assessment reveals its importance in fostering advanced nursing skills NURS FPX 8022 Assessment 2, its alignment with…

Empowering Nurses Through Global Leadership
In a fast-changing world, nurses are no longer confined to bedside care—they are pivotal actors in shaping health systems and influencing policy. The NURS FPX 8024 program is crafted to guide nursing professionals through a journey of leadership development, from theory to real-world impact. Its four assessments are deliberately sequenced to build insight, capability, and confidence. By engaging thoughtfully at each stage, learners can transform not only their own practice but also the systems they work within.
The first assessment offers a compelling entry point: Nurs fpx 8024 Assessment 1. Here, students examine the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in health systems. NGOs often fill gaps—especially in underserved regions—providing services, advocating for equity, and partnering…
Shaping Leadership through NHS FPX 8002
Healthcare leadership is a skill that develops through structured learning, reflection, and practical application. Nurses and healthcare professionals stepping into leadership roles often need more than clinical expertise—they require a blend of self-awareness, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills to guide teams and improve outcomes. The NHS FPX 8002 course is designed to address this need, offering learners a systematic pathway toward becoming effective leaders. Each assessment contributes to a deeper understanding of leadership, starting with the foundations and moving toward practical application. The course provides an opportunity to grow in confidence and competence while exploring both personal strengths and external challenges.
A strong starting point is NHS FPX 8002 Assessment 1, which emphasizes demonstrating…
The dissemination of project findings represents another key responsibility of doctoral-prepared nurses. Dissemination ensures that the lessons learned from scholarly projects contribute to the broader nursing community and healthcare system. Dissemination may occur through presentations at professional conferences, publication in peer-reviewed journals, or sharing results within the organization through reports and workshops. By disseminating findings, doctoral-prepared nurses extend the impact of their work beyond local contexts NURS FPX 9030 Assessment 4, influencing practice, education, and policy at regional, national, and even global levels. This dissemination embodies the scholarly role of nurses as knowledge producers and leaders in advancing healthcare.
