About the Event
Experience the invigorating blend of nature, wellness, and camaraderie in the Mental Health & Wellbeing Hiking Group at Loch Raven Reservoir Trails. Designed for individuals aged 15 and older, this event encourages participants to immerse themselves in the serenity of nature, while promoting psychological wellness and fostering meaningful social interaction.
Each session, we embark on a gentle hike at a moderate pace through the scenic and diverse terrain of Loch Raven Reservoir. Our journey may sometimes take us across potentially snow-covered paths and uneven trails, adding an adventurous edge to our exploration. However, our pace is slow and mindful, allowing for ample opportunity to soak in the natural beauty around us.
But this event is about more than just hiking; it's a journey of self-discovery and connection. Each week, our hikes are themed around essential topics related to psychological wellness, such as mindfulness, healthy social interaction, building relationships, communication skills, and our human relationship with the natural world.
As we walk, we share, learn, and open up dialogues around these themes, fostering a supportive and enriching environment. Whether you are an experienced hiker or new to the trails, you will find a welcoming community where you can engage, connect, and grow, while enjoying the physical benefits of hiking.

Participants must be…
- 15 and older
- Comfortable hiking at a slow to moderate pace on uneven terrain which may potentially be snow-covered
- Open to healthy connection and social interaction
- Learning about topics relating to psychological wellness as well as mindfulness, healthy social interaction, building relationships, the human relationship with the natural world, communication skills, etc. Each week will have a theme.
