About the Event

🌟 Embrace Serenity at the CMHC Meditation and Music Event 🌟

🎵 Who: If you're seeking a tranquil escape and have a love for music and meditation, this event is for you.

🎶 What: Join us for a soul-soothing evening at the CMHC Meditation and Music Event.  Immerse yourself in the harmonious blend of melodies and mindfulness, brought to life by local musicians and meditation practitioners. It's a night dedicated to the therapeutic powers of music and meditation, crafted to nourish your spirit and calm your mind.

🌿 About the Artists:

Phillip McKnight- is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher/facilitator with the Center for Nature Informed Therapy and Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative who combines the healing modalities of nature, mindfulness, and music. He has been exploring the practice of songwriting for healing over the last five years and has been following the teachings of songwriter Guy Clark who said “songs aren't finished until you play them for people.”

Rachel Oppenheimer is a certified sound healer who offers sound baths, which is an ensemble of instruments that create vibrational sounds to help cleanse your energy. Sound healing is experienced during a sound bath, where your energy is "bathed" by the vibrations of the instruments. Sound baths will include crystal singing bowls, chimes, gongs, zen tubes, an ocean drum, a rainstick, and more. The frequencies of each instrument in a sound bath can help promote deep relaxation. Each instrument in a sound bath has a different purpose related to releasing stuck emotions and restoring balance.

Ari Pluznik is a singer-songwriter, musician, and Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher who practices in the Insight tradition, with influences from Burmese Vipassana, the Thai Forest tradition, Zen, Jewish Spirituality, and other world wisdom traditions. Ari weaves music and mindfulness practice together in his performances as a soloist and with his band, Ari and the Buffalo Kings, whose sophomore album will be released in March 2024 with Special Guest Mira Menyuk.

Mira Menyuk, is a nature enthusiast who manages outdoor education programs. In addition to spending time in the forest with her dog she loves to write, sing, and play the guitar and looks forward to sharing her music with others.
