About the Event

Eco-Spirituality refers to the worldview that all creatures are deeply connected. Human beings benefit from having reciprocal relationships with the more-than-human world. Robin Wall Kimmerer, the author of Braiding Sweetgrass, provides a roadmap for reconciliation with earth and her creatures. Kimmerer’s healing practice of 1. Attending 2 .Gratitude 3. Advocacy 4. Personhood and 5. Reciprocity invites us to look deeper at our own personal bond with the natural world. Deepening our bond with nature often brings about connection to mystery and the Sacred. Ultimately, an Eco-Spiritual consciousness invites advocacy for self, the Earth, and all of creation. This two-part program begins with a lecture-style introduction of the concept of eco-spirituality in the first session and ends with an experiential practice outdoors at the Talmar Gardens & Horticultural Center located in Cromwell Valley Park for the second session.
