Shannon Wilson
M.Ed., LCPC
Shannon believes in the healing power of connection and conversation. Her goal is to help you feel heard and to increase your awareness of, and alignment with, your Best Self. Shannon earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from George Mason University and a post-master's certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University. Fun fact: Shannon's undergraduate studies and first career were in engineering! She enjoys her work now as a counselor and is living a purpose-driven life. Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
CLINICAL APPROACH
Shannon enjoys working from a strengths-based perspective. Her communication style is down-to-earth, warm and empathetic while posing direct and thoughtful questions that encourage meaningful self-reflection. Shannon practices cultural humility and an awareness of how systemic and societal factors can contribute to one's experience in the world.
Shannon does her best work with clients who are willing and ready to do the work. Clients that tend to gravitate to her find themselves actively navigating life transitions in their romantic and platonic relationships, careers, identity formation, and spiritual pursuits. Many clients also start therapy feeling “stuck” in their ability to balance mental wellness with life’s ever present demands. Shannon works with adult individuals and adolescents.
