Carey Cooper

Carey earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Department of Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University of Maryland. She approaches counseling with the perspective that each client is a unique and valuable individual who can benefit from empathetic, personalized support.

Carey incorporates an existential view of the client with techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, understanding that each client’s journey deserves an individualized therapeutic experience. Carey believes helping clients to examine questions of meaning and purpose provides motivation for growth in their lives. With compassionate listening, challenging questions and skillful support she journeys along with her clients, facilitating as they explore for themselves those thoughts, choices, and responsibilities in life that have compelled them to seek counseling. Carey desires for each client to gain confidence in who they are, so that they are able to live a more authentic, integrated and fulfilling life.

Carey works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, family and life changes, relational difficulties, and parenting concerns.
