Background

A Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) trained at Towson University, Bradford specializes in the treatment of anxiety, stress-management, depression, and working with major life transitions.  Bradford places a strong emphasis on self-care, finding healthy outlets for stress, and building communication skills. Bradford comes from a community mental health background and prior to counseling, has worked as a researcher for the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, worked with adults on the Autism spectrum at the Hussman Center, taught classes at REI, in addition to running an outdoor organization at a local university. Bradford’s eclectic background inspires a variety of creative approaches that he brings into the therapeutic space.

Clinical Approach

Every individual is shaped by their own unique lived experience. With that in mind, no two individuals share the same likeness or responses to stressors. As a result, Bradford utilizes an integrated, individualized approach for every client, drawing upon a variety of methodologies and interventions. Primarily, Bradford draws inspiration from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and related exposure and response prevention (ERP) interventions. Bradford additionally draws from gestalt, solution-focused, mindfulness-based, and client-centered approaches. Bradford has a passion for working with anxiety disorders such as phobias, social anxiety, generalized anxiety as well as mood and adjustment disorders. In an effort to meet every client where their wellness needs lie, Bradford has a passion for exploring how therapy can be expanded outside of the typical office-space whether it be in outdoor environments, teletherapy/distance-therapy, or “walk-and-talk” therapy.
